Boosting digital skills for digital capabilities month

This June, we're launching digital capabilities month with a series of interactive workshops designed to help staff across higher education, further education, and research sectors strengthen their essential digital skills.

As the education and research sectors continues to evolve in response to technological change, digital capabilities are more important than ever. Aimed at beginners, our month-long initiative is designed to support professional development in the sector with a programme of interactive, two-hour online CPD workshops focused on enhancing digital confidence and effectiveness. Sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and Mentimeter to support real-time engagement and collaboration.

Workshops cover six key areas based on our building digital capability framework:

The workshops are open to all staff at all member organisations regardless of whether their institution subscribes to the building digital capability service. The workshops provide a practical, accessible way to upskill and stay current in a rapidly evolving sector.

Kathryn Woodhead, subject specialist (digital practice) at Jisc, said:

“Digital skills are no longer optional. They’re essential for staying effective and adaptable in today’s education landscape. These workshops offer a practical and inclusive way for staff to build confidence and develop skills that can have an immediate impact in their roles.”
