As a partner on the European Commission’s open access infrastructure for research in Europe project, we will act as its national open access desk (or 'NOAD') for the UK.
OpenAIRE supports the Horizon 2020 vision of open access (OA) for scientific publications and research data. It will continue to work towards delivering a robust pan-European research information infrastructure that monitors OA research outcomes from the EC, and other national funders, and towards enhancing the potential of international OA repositories collaboration to support global research and scholarly communication.
What we're doing
Our role, as the 'NOAD', is providing helpdesk support to librarians, academic support staff and researchers on complying with:
- The Horizon 2020 open access (OA) policy
- The scope of the open research data pilot and the features
- Technical requirements and funding request procedures for the FP7 post-grant open access pilot
Our involvement means that UK higher education stays informed about European Union (EU) OA developments and complies with the EU OA policy as well as learning how to make institutional OA repositories harvestable into OpenAIRE.
Who will benefit?
- Research managers
- Data providers
- Funding agencies
- Horizon 2020 project coordinators
A full list of project partners can be found on the OpenAIRE website.
