Jisc appointed adviser to Government's Education Sector Action Group

Jisc has been appointed as an adviser to the Education Sector Action Group (ESAG), the ministerially-chaired body providing strategic oversight of the UK Government's International Education Strategy 2026.

ESAG brings together representatives from government, industry and education to help drive the delivery of the strategy and support the UK's international education ambitions.

As an adviser, we will contribute expertise in digital transformation and transnational education (TNE), helping to inform the development and delivery of sector action plans that support the strategy's objectives.

The appointment builds on our work to strengthen the international competitiveness of UK education through technology and digital leadership. This includes guidance for senior leaders on delivering digital equity in TNE based on research into the digital experiences of TNE students and staff and cost-effective licensing of resources for overseas students.

Elizabeth will also represent Jisc at Universities UK International's Transnational Education Conference on 30 September, where she will chair a breakfast roundtable, Strategic approaches to building equity into the global student experience, and participate in the plenary panel session, Collective action: delivering against the International Education Strategy.
