Graduate Outcomes 2023/24 data release
The latest Graduate Outcomes data for the 2023/24 cohort provides a comprehensive view of graduate activity, employment patterns, and further study across the UK.
Graduate Outcomes is the strongest labour-market dataset available in the UK, offering a unique, rich picture of what graduates are doing 15 months after completing their studies.
This release highlights key shifts in graduate employment patterns, including a slight decline in full-time employment, a small rise in unemployment, and clearer signs of a softening labour market following the post-pandemic peak.
Most graduates are in work or further study 15 months after completing their degree.
Key messages
- Most graduates are in work or further study 15 months after completing their degree, although full-time employment has decreased slightly and unemployment has risen to around seven per cent
- The proportion of graduates in high-skilled employment has dipped slightly, with small increases in lower-skilled roles and noticeable variation across subjects
- Institutions need to focus on employability support and high-quality careers guidance, with a stronger emphasis on local skills demand and helping graduates transition into the labour market, particularly as conditions become more challenging
- Despite concern about AI, there is currently no evidence of a collapse in graduate opportunities, with continued demand for graduate skills
