About

With one in every five students studying in the UK registered as a transnational education (TNE) student, it is essential that we have a better understanding of how to ensure TNE students have an equitable experience and that TNE staff have access to the support they need to develop their digital capability. We will hear some of the emerging issues from our TNE research and why universities who are partnering with us see this work as being of strategic importance.

We will also be hearing from universities who are piloting our beyond blended resources to support their approaches to curriculum design. There will be opportunities to discuss how these materials could be used within your own institution, or to share how you may already be making use of the guidance.

Our student experience experts group continues to play a key role in informing and influencing the direction of future Jisc student experience work, as well learning, teaching and assessment. Find out more about the student experience experts group and how to become a member.

  • Discuss why transnational education is of strategic importance for the sector and what can we do to support a more equitable digital experience for TNE students and staff
  • Hear how universities are using our Beyond blended: rethinking curriculum and learning design guide to support their curriculum development
  • Share examples of effective institutional practice and research in the role technology plays in learning, teaching and assessment

Updating the Digital Education Team’s CPD offer at Manchester Met

A key priority for the Digital Education Team at Manchester Met in 24/25 has been to review the existing CPD offer. In this lightning talk, Alicia will outline the rationale for change, and how we have updated our offer to align with institutional priorities, including our Digitally Enhanced Learning, Teaching and Assessment (DELTA) strategy. In doing so, we have also aligned our sessions to the Advance HE PSF, and the Jisc Building Digital Capabilities framework. Our session formats have been updated and added to a CPD ‘catalogue’, and we have updated our internal processes to facilitate collaboration and ensure consistency. So far, feedback from the team and from academic colleagues has been positive.
