About

  • Jisc's equipment data service aggregates a range of university and research facility equipment datasets and enables searches across UK research institutions through one portal. UK Research and Innovation's terms and conditions of grant for research projects requires “all new equipment purchased over £138,000 to be registered on the equipment data national database”. However, the platform is not limited to UKRI-funded research infrastructure assets, and we welcome data for any research assets of any value from any organisation
  • The service was upgraded in 2025 to meet new challenges and to maximise the value of the data. This upgrade improves the discovery and visibility of research assets, introduces the ability to cite and track the assets, and forms a basis to create a market intelligence data resource to enable efficiencies for the sector. The upgrade includes a new service data model and a data management platform that allow users to manage their records, assign DOI's (digital object identifier) and publish their equipment data
  • Webinar objectives: overview and opportunity for feedback: upgrade, new data management platform and benefits, potential opportunities to build on the upgrade and data and a discussion and interactive session (MIRO board) to get your feedback and ideas on possible new areas to explore

Who should attend
