About

This training session will look at AI safety and security concerns around privacy of data, the environmental impact of AI as well as what we can do to navigate generative AI in a responsible way.

Who should attend

This session is aimed at professional services staff who want to develop their understanding of the safe, ethical and responsible use of AI through critical evaluation. It is particularly relevant for those involved in operational processes or service delivery, and who are concerned with data privacy, bias, misinformation and responsible use of AI.

The session is suitable for a wide audience from these sectors:

  • Further education
  • Higher education
  • Independent education
  • Multi-academy trusts

  • Understanding what we mean by AI safety ​
  • Consider data and privacy
  • Understand the current landscape

What to expect

  • Exploring the concept of AI safety, an overview of concerns, data entry protocols, and terms and conditions, along with issues of misinformation and fairness
  • Consider bias, privacy and security in the use of generative AI, alongside reviewing relevant tools, and policies
  • A look at responsible use of AI, copyright and intellectual property (IP), focusing on challenges and opportunities

This webinar is free to anyone from a Jisc member organisation (UK further education colleges, specialist colleges or higher education institutions). You will therefore need to register with your institution's email address.

Non member, not-for-profit organisations, for example Multi Academy Trusts, schools and Independent HE, must register and pay to attend this session.
