The module, inclusive to eligible Jisc member organisations, covers the environmental impact of digital technologies, including topics like artificial intelligence (AI), before looking at positive solutions and best practices. Finally, you will find guidance to support effective leadership in digital sustainability, from creating and fostering a vision while still leveraging the benefits of digital technologies. Leaders play a crucial role in driving sustainable practices, inspiring stakeholders, and ensuring that sustainability goals are met.

  • The environmental impact of AI: learn about environmental challenges posed by the use of artificial intelligence

  • Data management: reduce your environmental impact by reviewing your data management and storage practices

What is a digital learning module?

A digital learning module is an online, self‑paced training unit designed to provide clear, accessible learning on a specific topic through interactive content, scenarios, and knowledge‑checking activities. Jisc’s digital learning modules are built to support all levels of staff and learners, offering informative and engaging materials on priority areas such as information security, data protection, digital accessibility, copyright and emerging fields like AI. They can be delivered off‑the‑shelf or fully tailored to an organisation’s policies and context, ensuring relevance and consistency across staff training. Organisations can deploy these modules to give all learners access to up‑to‑date, structured training that can be completed flexibly and tracked as part of internal development pathways.

Bespoke options

For a one-off fee of £1,500 we can work with you to tailor ten elements of the module to include your organisation’s policies, procedures and branding. If you would like temporary access to fully review the module please register for a trial.
