The target availability is 99.5% during the hours of service defined above, measured monthly over a 12 month period, excluding service-affecting maintenance.
Service-affecting maintenance is capped at 0.5% and is normally carried out with at least two weeks' notice.

Microsoft and Google Products: Jisc reviewed the contractual documents for Google Apps for Education and for Microsoft Office 365 and negotiated exclusive amendments to their respective terms and conditions.
In addition to these negotiated amendments, Jisc has produced a guidance note to accompany the Google Apps for Education Agreement, which highlights points for consideration by organisations when undertaking their assessment of whether to procure Apps for Education. The guidance note will be supplied as part of the reference pack.
Financial X-Ray: The Financial X-ray service helps cost IT services in research and education organisations, enhancing the work carried out by others in the sector. Organisations will be able to use this as a focal point for future work on the costing of IT services to derive ongoing benefits.
Cloud and data centre framework: Jisc procured this framework agreement in response to the needs of the community for data centre facilities and commercial cloud services. Eight suppliers have been selected and equally ranked on the framework. Organisations can select a supplier by running a mini-competition against its specific requirement with the selected suppliers.
Telephony purchasing service: The service enables organisations to purchase telephony services from suppliers that have been approved to join the telephony purchasing service. The service includes IP based SIP trunks over the organisation’s Janet connections and zero rated call costs within the telephony package that they purchase.
Data archiving framework: The service enables organisations to purchase highly secure, easy-to-use and cost-effective long-term storage for their data. This is a single-supplier framework with Arkivum as the chosen supplier.
File Sync and Share purchasing service: The service enables organisations to purchase file sync and share services from suppliers who have been approved to join the File Sync and Share purchasing service. The services will be delivered over a direct connection to Janet, with options for user managed encryption and integrated federated access etc.
The customer is responsible for responding to supplier questions and providing any information requested.
The customer must ensure they accept the terms of the cloud service supplier’s agreement and its application to their organisation, as the contract is between the customer and the supplier and the customer is responsible for compliance with legal obligations.
