University of Northampton selects Jisc learning analytics and attendance monitoring to support student success
The University of Northampton has chosen our platform for its institution-wide learning analytics, with full rollout planned for the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
Currently piloting the service, the university will extend access to all students from September, bringing engagement, attendance and institutional data together in a single platform that supports both students and staff.
By moving to our learning analytics, the University of Northampton is streamlining its approach to student insight and support, replacing two separate systems with a single solution.
Our learning analytics combines attendance monitoring, engagement dashboards, reporting and analytics, case management and a student app within one integrated environment. The service enables universities to identify students who may need additional support earlier and manage interventions at scale, strengthen attendance and compliance monitoring and support evidence-based decision making across the institution.
The University of Northampton joins a growing community of UK higher education providers using our learning analytics, including Abertay University, Bournemouth University, City St George's, University of London, the University of Salford, the University of South Wales and the University of Suffolk.
Rob Howe, head of learning technology, University of Northampton said:
"By bringing together attendance, engagement and institutional data in one place, we're creating a more joined-up approach to supporting our students. Jisc learning analytics will help us gain richer insights, simplify processes and enable timely interventions that enhance the student experience and support student success."
Alexandra Vujcich, director of digital, data and transformation said:
"This project is an important part of delivering our Digital & Data Strategy and reflects our commitment to making better use of data to support student success. Working closely with Jisc and colleagues from across the university, we have successfully implemented a single platform for attendance and engagement, bringing together capabilities that were previously delivered through separate systems. As we move into the next phase, our focus will be on embedding the platform across the university and building on the insights it provides to further enhance the student experience and strengthen student success."
Alice Wilby, pro-vice chancellor (education and student experience) said:
“The implementation has been smooth and well-supported, and the learner analytics product is already demonstrating its value for supporting student engagement activities.”
James Hodgkin, head of analytics, Jisc said:
"We're delighted to welcome the University of Northampton to the growing number of institutions using Jisc learning analytics. Universities are increasingly looking for joined-up, institution-wide insight that enables them to better understand student engagement, support wellbeing and improve outcomes. By bringing attendance, engagement and student data together in a single platform, learning analytics provides staff with the information they need to make timely, informed decisions and deliver support where it's needed most."
