UKUPC and Jisc launch joint sector IT brochure for software and content procurement
The new brochure brings together, for the first time, a comprehensive view of the software and content agreements and frameworks available to UK education and research organisations.
Together with UK Universities Procurement Consortia (UKUPC), Jisc has launched a new, joint IT procurement brochure.
The new resource provides a single, easy-to-navigate view of the routes institutions can use to procure digital technologies, infrastructure, software, cloud services and cyber security solutions.
By aligning UKUPC’s framework agreements with our sector-wide procurement portfolio, the brochure helps organisations quickly identify appropriate, cost-effective and compliant options to meet their digital needs.
Developed through close cross-sector collaboration, it reflects a shared commitment to making the procurement landscape clearer and more accessible for the sector.
John Shaile, director of procurement and supplier management at Jisc, said:
“By working together with UKUPC and partners across the sector, we are making it easier for institutions to navigate what can often be a complex procurement landscape. This joint brochure brings greater visibility of the frameworks and agreements available, helping organisations find and use the right options with confidence.
“It’s a practical example of how collaboration can support better-informed decision making, ensuring institutions can access the digital and technology solutions they need in a way that reduces administrative effort, avoids the need for lengthy and resource intensive tender processes and helps them secure better value from their investment.”
Gemma Payne, director of SUPC, and Angus Warren, chief executive officer at APUC, speaking on behalf of UKUPC, said:
“This brochure reflects our shared commitment to better serving members by improving how they discover and engage with the wide range of digital solutions available across the sector. By presenting this information in one place, we’re helping institutions take a more joined-up and informed approach to their IT procurement activity.
“It also highlights the strength of collaboration across UKUPC and Jisc, ensuring our combined expertise delivers practical value to institutions. By increasing awareness and accessibility of available agreements, we’re supporting members to move more quickly and confidently in meeting their evolving digital requirements.”
The brochure showcases both procurement frameworks and sector-negotiated licensing agreements, illustrating how institutions can bring these together to support more effective and efficient procurement approaches.
