Renewed collaboration against cyber threats
Alongside our global partners in research and education cyber security, we've signed an updated Global Cyber Threat Sharing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement renews our commitment to collective defence, and brings us together with AARNet in Australia, CANARIE in Canada, REN-ISAC/OmniSOC in the United States, and welcomes REANNZ of New Zealand as a new signatory.
The renewed MoU strengthens international collaboration to protect the global research and education sector against a continually evolving cyber threat landscape.
Strengthening a trusted global network
First established to support coordinated cyber defence across borders, the partnership enables the secure exchange of timely, actionable threat intelligence drawn from real-world security operations.
Participating organisations share insights into threats targeting research and education institutions, helping peers detect, respond to, and reduce the impact of cyber incidents.
Built on trust and responsible sharing
The agreement establishes clear safeguards for confidentiality, handling, and responsible use of shared information. These protocols enable partners to exchange sensitive intelligence with confidence while protecting institutional and operational integrity.
The collaboration builds on a proven model of trusted information sharing, where sector-specific intelligence is curated and distributed to support the unique needs of research and education institutions.
Supporting global research and education
Through coordinated action and shared intelligence, the partnership helps institutions around the world strengthen their cyber resilience.
Our CEO, Heidi Fraser-Krauss, said:

By expanding participation to include REANNZ, the agreement further enhances global coverage and deepens collaboration across national research and education networks, demonstrating a maturing model that has built trust among partners and is now expanding as a global standard for collaboration.
