About the community
FORRT provides a pedagogical infrastructure and open educational resources designed to support the teaching and mentoring of open and reproducible science. FORRT strives to:
- Raise awareness of the pedagogical implications of open and reproducible science and its associated challenges (ie, curricular reform, epistemological uncertainty, methods of education)
- Respond to calls to consider open scholarship as inclusive scholarship
- Advocate for the opening and formal recognition of teaching and mentoring materials to facilitate access, discovery, and learning to those who otherwise would be educationally disenfranchised
What you can expect
The community has published meta-scientific peer-reviewed papers and policies and also has ongoing manuscripts being written. Find out more about FORRT publications.
The majority of FORRT’s operations are done via a Slack channel. The community uses Slack to keep everyone up-to-date, to share interesting resources, coordinate FORRT teams, announce FORRT projects, build community, and to provide a platform for ongoing discussions on projects, organisation and mission.
Who should join?
This community is open to any educator who wishes to integrate typical discipline content with open and reproducible science tenets or those wishing for a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and accessible academia.
