The Unsub National Agreement started in May 2021.
Unsub is running two webinars, so you can choose the date that's best for you. If you cannot make this date, the same information will be covered in:
Two preliminary webinars planned for June will introduce the Unsub dashboard, discuss the national deal and the value of a collective approach, outline development plans for a unique consortium level feature, seek your input on this new development, and respond to any questions you might have. A survey to be circulated will aim to seek feedback on the consortium feature particularly and inform development. Following development of the consortium level function in June there will be further opportunities through meetings and events to see the consortium function in action.
Unsub will also allow universities to assess and share various scenarios of selecting journal titles. Modelling different scenarios gives university libraries greater insight into the value of their subscription packages, with the opportunity to share their outcomes with the Jisc consortium to enable greater oversight in support of national negotiation activities.
Recently, Unsub has proved to be a useful analytical tool to support academic institutions make informed decisions about big deal subscriptions and assess how much money institutions could save or reallocate. Jisc is currently negotiating a new deal with Elsevier and Unsub will prove to be a valuable tool for SCONUL members to assess the value of current Elsevier journal subscriptions relative to cost and explore different forecast scenarios both at the institutional and national level.
Sconul and Jisc have organised two webinars for both existing and prospective Unsub users.
