    This one-day online live course, split into two half-day sessions, and building on hassel inclusion's QA Fundamentals course, enables QA testers to integrate tests against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria into their unit testing of websites. It includes:

    • Testing using screen readers on desktop and mobile devices
    • Hands-on experience of reliably testing using assistive technologies

    This course is only available to Jisc members.

    Who should attend

    It is suitable for:

    • Any QA testers who want to gain a solid foundation in how to test desktop websites for key accessibility issues
    • It will also benefit product owners, business analysts or anyone who wants the knowledge to reliably and quickly test the accessibility of their products

    Training outcomes

    You will:

    • Efficiently test websites against WCAG checkpoints throughout the development lifecycle
    • Identify accessibility issues earlier, reducing fix cost, time and stress
    • Develop in-house accessibility expertise to reduce reliance on external auditors for testing your websites against WCAG 2.1 AA
    • Increase your organisation's market access and revenue opportunities through creating accessible, compliant sites that allow the fullest access to 20% of the population that are often excluded

    Pre-requisites

    • Skills - General knowledge of QA testing of websites. Desire to extend your knowledge into accessibility testing
    • Tech - Laptop required so you can participate in the online training (on Zoom) and key training exercises. Access to download screen readers and extensions on laptop. Access to a mobile device
