This is the first of a series of online briefings providing opportunities for those involved with or affected by information and cyber security, to share experiences, learn lessons and benefit from peer support.
Briefings will be led by Paul Drake. Paul is an experienced chief information security officer who has worked in information security in the private, public and education and research sectors for the past 30 years. The sessions will include opportunities for participants to ask questions and discuss issues relating to this broad and high profile area.
In this first briefing you will receive an introduction to some of the key trends affecting all of us. Following sessions will discuss these and other issues in more depth. Attendance at this foundational session is recommended to get the most benefit from the rest of the series.

- How information security has evolved, and continues to evolve - including some exciting trends
- Information security and how it aligns as a predominantly business function, and understanding the business impact of what information security practitioners do
- How standing still is not an option by looking at some threat trends, particularly at the pivotal role that education has as a countermeasure
- The key role of the CISO, particularly, how the role is evolving
