Luke Keelan

Relationship manager

Role

As a relationship manager, I ensure that members experience a strong and personalised relationship with Jisc, enabling them to have ready access to our full range of products, services and support, whether inclusive as part of membership or in addition to any subscription package.

Additionally I champion our members' needs within Jisc, challenging with respect to members’ requirements so that member 'voice' shapes Jisc's operational and strategic priorities.

Background

I am a passionate technology enthusiast, with over 17 years of hands on experience assisting organisations of all sizes and sectors adopt new technologies to help reduce operational costs, increase profitability and better respond to their customer’s wants and needs.

In my previous role prior to joining Jisc, I worked at the University of Southampton as a collaboration manager for information and communications technology within the research and innovation services team.

This role was primarily focused on helping the academic community build relationships with industry partners in the pursuit of research funding. However, it also required me to articulate the practical value of the research being undertaken into transferrable intellectual property that has commercial value.

Much of my technical knowledge comes from my time at IBM where I held various client management roles catering to central government and public sector organisations, where I specialised in software, server, storage architecture and cloud based services.
