I oversee our digital content and discovery related people, organisations, strategy, services and operations. In 2007, I became director of Mimas, now part of Jisc, and was appointed to my new role earlier this year.
I work to ensure Jisc's digital ‘content and discovery’ capabilities and expertise lead to cost-effective, innovative and long-lived benefits for UK research and education.
I am also deputy director of the ESRC-funded UK Data Service.
I have almost 30 years of experience in developing and delivering high quality research data services to the UK academic community.
After doing a joint honours degree in geography and history, I had a number of research assistant posts before moving to the University of Manchester in 1984, in a role supporting academic researchers who wanted to access 1981 census aggregate statistics online.
