John is responsible for the leadership and culture agenda and the digital leaders program at Jisc, which enables like-minded people and organisations to better adapt to technological change.
John is a senior fellow (AdvanceHE) and holds a Masters in Online & Distance Education from The Open University. For more than a decade, John has influenced digital-driven change at international, national, and government levels. Working with high-level executives to help them establish and implement change management digital strategies, as well as to improve the company's commercial performance. Previous responsibilities have included leading organisations, departments, and teams to implement digital transformation while connecting academia and technology. John has also served as a keynote speaker at international conferences in the UK, USA, Germany and South America.
Previous international work includes:
- The Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, developing blended and online learning strategies
- Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), sharing best practices in online learning approaches
- University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2018, working with the Educational Enhancement Unit to implement the Higher Education Academy (HEA) framework and UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF)
- Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, South America, providing digital transformation advice, guidance and workshops in 2020
