Daniel Needham

Application developer

As a software and web application developer, my primary role is split between Historical Texts and Jisc Journal Archives. I also perform a cross-service role, helping teams with source control and providing other ad-hoc development help where required.

Selected papers and presentations
  • Danskin, A.,  A. Hill and D. Needham (2011). ‘The Names Project: a new approach to name authority.’ Information standards quarterly. 23.3: 14-19.

My main area of interest is the software development lifecycle, particularly development processes and frameworks, unit testing and source control.

I have experience using many programming and scripting languages, as well as a wide variety of technologies.
