Unisocs is a website for students to receive help and advice from other members of their subject department.
It’s a combination of a platform to track your progress and store data about how much time you've dedicated to different projects, alongside a discussion forum for getting in touch with other students.
Unisocs enables a greater level of communication amongst all students within a department, regardless of their year of study or friendship groups. In addition, students may record and track their revision progress, receive points for their efforts, and see a leaderboard allowing them to rank themselves alongside other students.
“Our aim is simple. We want Unisocs to improve the student experience as a whole, from enhancing the learning environment to building relationships between peers."
“Perhaps if we were to step back, and keep track of exactly what we’re working on, what we’ve worked on, and what we need to work on, then we’d all see an improvement in our work and time management. No one has the patience to write all of that down every day for three years, so Unisocs does it for you.”
Creator Joseph Chamberlain
Feedback for the idea has so far has been very positive, with senior lecturers wishing to use Unisocs within their teaching once it’s ready.
“The eLearning Unit at the University of Liverpool have been very excited to see Unisocs work together with the university, and want to see us play an integral role in student life. We're currently discussing the idea of seeing Unisocs beside the Blackboard application in the near future.”
