About Microsoft Office 365
Our negotiated changes to Microsoft's standard Office 365 agreement saves organisations negotiating directly with Microsoft to secure the same amendments.
The negotiated amendments to Microsoft's standard agreement cover areas including:
- Standard liability
- Privacy and security measures
- Clarification of jurisdiction and legal precedence, etc.
In addition to the amendments, we can provide a functional educational overview of Office 365 and a diagram representing the interaction between different document types that form the Office 365 contract.
Guidance notes relating to the interpretation and operational application of the document set are also available.

Annual review
The guidance notes we have produced to accompany the agreement are maintained as laws and directives change, and as Microsoft amend their agreement.
A nominal fee of £500 per year is payable by organisations to cover some of the costs of this service.
Advice
Before entering into an agreement with Microsoft you must, as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998, undertake your own assessment of whether Office 365 and Microsoft's security measures are adequate and should seek appropriate legal advice if required.
The ICO's guidance on cloud computing may assist with this assessment.
