The negotiated amendments to Google’s standard agreement cover areas including:
Third party data requests
A full summary of the amendments are available on request.
We have clarified ambiguity as to how certain provisions would apply in practice. These amendments ensure that your position is more certain with less scope for potential future dispute.

Before entering into an agreement with Google, you must, as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998, undertake your own assessment of whether the Apps for Education Agreement and Google's security measures are adequate and should seek appropriate legal advice if required.
We have produced a guidance note to accompany the agreement which is available to organisations that sign up to use our negotiated amendments.
These guidance notes are maintained as laws and directives change, and as Google amend their agreement. A nominal fee of £500 per year is payable by organisations to cover some of the costs of this service, with discounts available of 10 percent and 20 percent for three and five year commitments.
