About
The edtech programme is a service to introduce member organisations to innovative new companies. It will also be a space for community and collaboration, where the sector can come together to discuss and support one another through workshops, drop-in clinics and sharing data (trends analysis and market maps).
The programme will help you overcome the barriers to working with startups, such as:
- Being unsure of how to negotiate this complex market
- Lack of knowledge about solutions already available
- No reliable source of information you can trust
- Understanding what edtech is being used in the sector and how it has impacted institutions
How it works
The process is simple:
- Interview - tell us your needs and commitments as an organisation
- Identify - we work together to identify your priorities
- Investigate - we go out and find the best possible solutions to solve your problems
- Introduce - you are introduced to relevant startups or other Jisc services
Benefits to you
- Saves time - you are guided through this complex startup industry quickly
- Removes hassle - the matchmaking service is completely personal and tailor-made
- Reduces risk - Jisc carries out an assessment of each startup to ensure quality
Edtech hub pilots
You can choose to be a part of our hub pilot, where we take a deep dive to understand sector challenges and institutions’ main priorities in a small group.
This process will involve:
Joining a group of at least three institutions who all share the same challenge
Shaping the problem brief (with Jisc's support) to decide what we want to solve as a collective
Jisc will then analyse and map the market to find appropriate edtech companies
The group will work with the edtech company to shape their product, so it can best meet the hub’s needs through a collaborative pilot of the product
Eligibility
The edtech programme is a new service. For its first year we will work with a small cohort of 20 higher education institutions. After this, we hope to open up the programme to FE members as well.
Our 2021-2022 pilot cohort will have access to:
- Personalised support to find and explore relevant solutions
- Regular community events including solution workshops, investigation workshops and demos from approved edtech companies
- A chance to share findings and knowledge with the community through case studies created by Jisc
- Ongoing support throughout the year to ensure progress is being made towards member’s individual goals
