Jisc is providing technical and community support to ORCID UK consortium members. This event follows the API and use case workshop held on 30 September 2016 to explore the requirements and opportunities for working with data accessed through the ORCID API.
It will be a hands-on day that builds on the use cases developed in that workshop. The focus will be for developers to come up with scripts, plug-ins and solutions to better work with the ORCID API, develop common solutions or compare approaches and learn from each other.
The day will be supported by facilitators from ORCID, from universities and from the Jisc team. It will include opportunity to dig deep into the features of the ORCID API (both reading and writing data), to review code and to identify opportunities for reuse based on open source principles.
Who should attend
Those responsible for implementing ORCID within their institutions including:
- Repository systems developers
- CRIS vendors/developers
- Domain experts/repository managers (ORCID members with real needs!)
There will opportunities to work solo or in small teams, side-by-side with developers and users.
For more information, contact Monica Duke, ORCID support coordinator: [email protected].
These events are open to Jisc ORCID consortium members and non-consortium members, but if there is high demand for spaces preference may be given to existing consortium members.
