The Science and Innovation Conference 2015 will provide delegates with the opportunity to discuss and examine the future of the UK’s science and research base, and gain best practice knowledge on driving innovation and secure growth through partnerships at home and internationally.
Martin Hamilton, futurist, Jisc
As we move into the expected post-election comprehensive spending review, it is a good time to take stock of some of the innovations that have helped the UK's institutions and industry to work together to accelerate innovation whilst achieving operating efficiencies over the last few years.
In this panel session we will hear about trend setting initiatives such as Jisc's shared data centre, used for big data and high performance computing facilities by leading institutions such as University College London and the Francis Crick Institute.
We will also discuss Jisc's equipment sharing initiative, which makes over £200m of capital equipment available for sharing between institutions and with industry, and the potential of industrial connectivity to the UK's Janet network.
Jisc exhibition stand
Talk to our experts on the Jisc exhibition stand to find out how we are making £60m of public investment in HPC facilities and expertise, over 10,000 items of research equipment available for sharing between institutions, and about industry connectivity to Jisc’s superfast national network, Janet.
