The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is due to come into effect in May 2018.
The implementation of GDPR will fundamentally change the relationship between how your organisation collects, processes, stores and shares its personal data of your staff and students.
Our event is designed to offer our members practical advice around the impact of these changes and how to plan and implement changes across your organisation. Our experts will be on hand to answer your questions throughout the day.
We'll be welcoming a variety of speakers and GDPR specialists from further education colleges and higher education institutions. Full programme to be announced.
Who should attend
This event is for Jisc members only and will be relevant to:
- All those who want to understand how to plan for GDPR including information governance leads, information or records managers and data protection officers
- All those implementing process changes as a result of compliance requirements
- Directors and senior managers interested in the strategic need to make changes and how to be compliant
- Prospect researchers, data analysts, fundraisers, alumni relations staff and those working in a marketing or student recruitment role who wish to be further informed about the regulations and its impact and how they can play a role in ensuring their institutions are ready for GDPR
This is a free event for Jisc members from the higher education, further education and skills sector.
To ensure we give all eligible organisations a fair chance at attending, we can currently only accept a maximum of one delegate per member organisation.
To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise that you liaise with your team before registration to decide the most suitable representative to attend the conference. Additional registrants from the same organisation will be put onto a waiting list and contacted if a place becomes available.
