Our goal is to help further education (FE) learning providers in England evaluate and take advantage of the many benefits that technology can offer, particularly during area review implementation.
Personalised support, as and when you need it
Due to each college inherently having different characteristics as well as different objectives and requirements, we appreciate that the nature and level of support we can offer will vary from college to college.
We’re here to help, here are some examples of the support we can offer:
We’ve produced a transformation toolkit (pdf) to help you to understand the technology your college requires, depending on the current level of digital capability and where you are on your transformational journey. The products, services and solutions outlined in the toolkits act as a guide in order for you to cross-check in your own college whether you are taking advantage of these.
In a trio of separate packages, digital solutions are grouped together. The basic package – the essentials toolkit – covers budget management, staff training, network security and resources for teaching and learning.
The development toolkit adds technology to drive further efficiencies, while the innovation toolkit focuses on more top-line services and products such as learning analytics and migration to cloud computing.
As part of our consultancy service, we can provide practical support, expert assistance and specialist consultancy through a package tailored to your needs.
Our ongoing, impartial advice and extensive hands-on support can enable you to identify the issues, select solutions and work through the process to an optimal outcome.
Additionally, our merger toolkit (pdf) outlines ways that Jisc can help colleges join together successfully and emerge from the process as efficient, sustainable and high-quality providers of learning and skills. The toolkit outlines how we can support you to address business-critical issues, ensure reliable, secure network access and maintain transparency on IT costs.
We have experience of supporting merging colleges, enabling them to successfully address associated IT issues, as well as other opportunities and challenges that merging raises.
This free tool provides not only detailed analysis of the full cost to deliver all IT services by service, but also benchmarking against peer institutions. This provides a way to identify areas of relatively high and low IT spend.
Transparency and benchmarking provided by this tool delivers robust decision support for future IT cost management.
We offer specialist advice from our team of experts in curriculum design, business process, IT and enterprise systems, and workforce development.
We can provide advice and assistance to participating colleges throughout the process both for data submission and governor decision making. We can also offer ongoing support with agreed implementation plans arising from the area review processes.
We also offer support and advice regarding how technology can support colleges who wish to merger and/or rationalise.
