Copyright and other Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) will be at the forefront of JISC’s activities and services and in many cases, both underpin and determine the various types of projects that JISC funds and support that it offers.

IPR consultancy

The JISC IPR Consultancy, led by Naomi Korn and Professor Charles Oppenheim was started in October 2005 to provide expert advice to the JISC Innovation Group in the area of intellectual property rights. The Consultancy been providing input to the JISC Development Group on a range of issues around programme management and IPR issues within FE and HE

Their work includes:

  • Responding to consultations on behalf of JISC
  • Supporting JISC Innovation Group Programme Managers on issues relating to IPR and licensing
  • Developing and maintaining networks across JISC
  • Producing a regular IPR Newsletter
  • Scoping and research into requirements
  • Research and development
