Learning Environments
Online and physical learning spaces are affected by diverse contemporary phenomena such as the extensive use of digital technologies, an emphasis on learner-centred study and the need for environmental sustainability.
JISC is exploring how universities and colleges can provide technology-rich learning environments that are sustainable, accessible and reflect an understanding of the learning styles, preferences and diversity of their users. Such environments might include bespoke Virtual Learning Environments, Personal Learning Environments (that support learners' individual needs), universally-available tools such as social software, virtual worlds, on-line games, or real-world spaces that complement the use of modern technologies in education.
