A description of 'cross-cutting' projects that are designed to further the aims of the information environment.

Cross-cutting projects

Every project that is funded under the Information Environment (IE) theme is implementing or exploring a section of the Information Environment. Some of the projects or activities funded under this theme are taking a broader look at the Information Environment and are therefore relevant to the development of the Information Environment as a whole.

Developer Community

Building a network of technical developers (e.g. Web, software) in HE institutions to share ideas, good practice and experience and collaborate on solving problems.  Visit the UKOLN Web site for further information.

Information Environment Technical Review

This is work being undertaken by UKOLN during 2009/10 to review the technical approaches that underpin the Information Environment.

User Requirements

Small scale studies exploring particular aspects of user behaviour to inform the development of future services. There may also be a range of other supporting studies.
