National Grid Service
The National Grid Service (NGS) aims to facilitate UK research by providing national access to a broad range of computational and data based resources in the UK and internationally.
The NGS provides core services to enable collaborative access to computing and data resources, enabling UK researchers to efficiently exploit computing facilities across the world. Research computing resources include high performance computing and high-throughput computing systems, data resources such as databases and metadata storage systems, and other systems such as network-enabled experimental facilities and visualisation.
The NGS also works with higher education and research organisations to enable the sharing of institutional infrastructure and to provide mechanisms of managing the sharing of resources between NGS member sites and beyond.
