X4LMUSIC: e-learning for music and music technology

Introduction

The project aims to develop standards based e-learning objects utilising and repurposing materials available via the Grove Online reference work, MIDI, digital video and audio clips, content available through an existing relationship with Soundcraft, plus materials to become available on the Arts and Creative Industries Hub of the RDN.

Aims and Objectives

  1. Development of e-learning expertise and knowledge base of subject specialists and LRC staff in the two Colleges involved
  2. Design and Production of pilot standards-based e-learning resources
  3. Analysis and evaluation of teaching and learning strategies in relation to the learning objects produced
  4. Trial packaging and mounting of learning objects into VLEs at each college
  5. Series of observational and self-reflective reports on experiences
  6. Development of best practice document reflecting findings from this project
