VRE phase 3 projects

There are three strands within the VRE3 Programme.

I - Tools

This strand looked for projects to build on previous work and look at the embedding possibilities of collaborative research tools within VRE frameworks and further research on the Generic tools stack.

II - Frameworks

Projects in this strand built on the research tools and interoperability work of VRE phase 1 and 2.

Collaborative Research in Business (CRIB)
Cancer Imaging VRE
ONE VRE
BRAIN - Building Research and Innovation Networks

III - Interoperability

Building on the work of Phase 1, projects in this strand researched the interoperability with national and institutional solutions used within the research lifecycle. Resource discovery, repositories, publishing and digital curation play a vital role that is strongly related to VREs. It also includes link-up with institutional systems, which is of great importance for the sustainability of VREs.
