Academy/JISC Open Educational Resources Programme Phase 3
The UK Open Educational Resources initiative, led jointly by JISC and the Higher Education Academy on behalf of HEFCE, encompassed three year-long funded programmes of activity. Building on two previous phases (UKOER1, UKOER2) work in 2011-12 (UKOER3) was designed to support the continued application of OER and related activity and processes to issues and challenges across the English HE (including HE in FE) sector and related areas.
Phase 3 encompassed a number of activities managed by JISC and the Higher Education Academy. These included:
Communications and dissemination work
Including updates to the UKOER Infokit and a series of institutional seminars.
Publication: briefing paper for senior managers.
OER Phase 3 "Themes" projects
These projects investigated the effectiveness of open practices in working towards particular strategic, policy and societal goals. Projects commenced on 17th October 2011, and ran for one year.

UKOER rapid innovation projects
Short technical projects.
Evaluation and Synthesis project
Findings from all three phases of UKOER are fully documented at the E&S wiki, managed by a team led from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Support for institutional change
Included an institutional change academy project , support for embedding the findings from existing work and a set of projects developing materials for staff development regarding OER.
Technical support led by JISC CETIS, IPR support led by the OER IPR project.
