Strategic Management Information

This project aims to assess the management information needs of senior institutional managers to ensure informed, evidence-based decision-making; what issues may currently be preventing access to this information and what current business intelligence and visualisation technologies may be able to offer in this area.

Aims and objectives

This project will clarify senior management requirements in relation to evidence-based decision making. It will explore the range of organisational, cultural and technological issues which may currently be inhibiting progress and seek to find ways of overcoming them. It will also strive to more closely align the needs from the sector in relation to business information and the current and planned offerings from the vendor community.

Project methodology

The project will be managed by Steve Bailey, Senior Adviser, JISC infoNet. Specific work packages and other tasks will be undertaken by external consultants under the direction of Steve Bailey. Wherever possible we will also seek to engage and work with other sector agencies and bodies working in this area.
