JISC held a workshop in late 1998 entitled C&IT: The Aware Manager, which made a number of recommendations that could be undertaken by JISC with the support of UCoSDA. This project, headed by the University of Abertay, Dundee, is one of those and will involve developing sample modules for a C&IT element within courses for middle managers (Heads of Department, both academic and support) which might be used in national, regional or local courses.
The project aims to examine the requirements of middle managers in respect of training and awareness in the use of C&IT. An online training environment will be developed to accommodate remote access/distance learners working independently or within groups.
