This project seeks to update Peter Ford’s 1996 publication 'Managing Change in Higher Education: Learning Environment Architecture'.

Learning Lessons from eBusiness

This project has now completed and produced a hard copy and e-book version of  The e-Revolution and Post-Compulsory Education: Using e-Business Models to Deliver Quality Education which offers senior managers in further (FE) and higher education (HE) best-practice guidance for applying e-business approaches to their institutions.

The e-book was launched in March 2009. A blog was set up to invite comments from thought leaders in the field.  New articles have also been included in the blog and are available for comment:

The original project

This project aimed to update Peter Ford’s 1996 publication Managing Change in Higher Education: Learning Environment Architecture. This book included nine contributors and covered social, business and technical perspectives.

This project updated the existing body of information and make it more accessible to FE institutions. Around a dozen experts/consultants are contributing to the book and will attempt to map out the critical issues on a series of topics ranging from student services, registry, marketing, staff development to web services.  It is anticipated that there will be phased releases of material during the lifecycle of the project.
