The primary aim of this study is to summarise previous relevant work and to gather fresh opinion from appropriate stakeholders about the advisability of applying preservation and curation procedures to e-learning objects.

The objectives of this study are:

  1. To identify and extract relevant information from existing resources that are pertinent to this study;
  2. To identify and solicit opinion from a range of individuals, groups and organisations with views relevant to the issues in question;
  3. To synthesise and analyse the material gleaned from the relevant literature and from the opinion solicited from the stakeholder community;
  4. To produce a limited number of high level recommendations that will inform future strategic work in this area.
