In response to service development; requests and suggestions from the user-community; other professional bodies; and review by an international panel for JISC, it is now seen as a priority to develop RoMEO in the following ways: 1. Maintain the availability of the service 2. Consolidate current technical, informational and service achievements 3. Strategic increase of publisher and journal listing 4. Wider engagement in the community for advocacy and for feedback 5. Creation and embedding of sustainability of service 6. Formation of sustainable governance and staffing structure

RoMEO Development 2010

In response to service development; requests and suggestions from the user-community; other professional bodies; and review by an international panel for JISC, it is now seen as a priority to develop RoMEO in the following ways:

  1. Maintain the availability of the service
  2. Consolidate current technical, informational and service achievements
  3. Strategic increase of publisher and journal listing
  4. Wider engagement in the community for advocacy and for feedback
  5. Creation and embedding of sustainability of service
  6. Formation of sustainable governance and staffing structure

It is seen as essential that RoMEO undergoes a transition from its current status as an ongoing development project to be a sustainable and embedded service for the open access community. This will require organisational and strategic change, which is addressed in the work outlined in this proposal.
