We propose making significant improvements to the user interface and aesthetics of the Glasgow School of Art’s (GSA) existing repository in order to address challenges in embedding the system and encouraging take-up. Currently, take-up both internally within the research and management functions of GSA, and for users of the public interface are hampered due to the limitations of the current web interface. We propose to adopt a “design innovation” methodology to specify improvements in aspects from aesthetics, to search and navigation. This builds on both GSA’s repository and embeds good practice developed through the EPrints team at University of Southampton.

Enhanced interface design for supporting take-up and embedding of the Glasgow School of Art research repository, including visual engagement with practice led and applied outputs.
