Open PSI is a collaboration between the University of Southampton and the UK government, lead by the National Archive, to trial of a new form of community provisioned information service that: a.) uses Semantic Web standards to provide an integration point for UK governmental sourced information, and b.) creates an interaction space between the governmental information publishers, the research community who need access to governmental information and the new form of information intermediaries, the mashup creators. JISC funding will provide delta funding to lever significant investments being made by the public sector, ongoing research programmes, and individuals in both information and technology assets, to create a baseline community provisioned information service and to engage the community to sustain it.
