This assignment will contribute to the delivery of the implementation plan for the RDTF vision through the management of stakeholder relationships and communications. All activity will be based on systematic processes, supported with web-based CRM, to ensure effective engagement, based on appropriately targeted content and regular updating. The flexible communications mix will include a combination of personal contact, core briefing materials, web presence (not just a website), electronic newsletters, press releases and events. As well as generating RDTF specific communications, the project will seek to exploit partner channels - online, publications and events. The work will be planned and monitored by working closely with the JISC Programme Manager and the Mimas-led Management Framework project. A 2-phase approach is proposed in order to maximise flexibility over the 7 months. The outcomes will be encapsulated in a final report, which will include analysis of the work in terms of audience and messages (informed by an online survey as well as qualitative evidence) and will make recommendations for the next stage Communications Plan. The Sero team will be led by Liz Wallis, who is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIMA). The team offers an essential combination of communications professionals (experienced in specialist stakeholder campaigns in education and the public realm) and domain experts (covering libraries, archives, museums, repositories and the developer community as well as having good contacts across the four nations). The team includes established Sero partners chosen for their expert contribution in that landscape as well as for their communications skills. The team will deliver 154 days of professional effort (126 days from nominated senior personnel) over 6 months, an equivalent of 1.4 FTE, with a further allocation of funds for event support.
