The project will extract the metadata records for the Mass Observation Archive from the University of Sussex Special Collection’s Archival Management System (CALM) and convert them in to Linked Data that will be made publicly available.
The key steps are:

• The University of Sussex to extract the data from CALM using an EAD export. Some editing is likely to be required to enable data to be exported correctly;
• Pete Johnson at Eduserv will transform the data in to Linked Data. Building on templates already in development for the JISC LOCAH Project;
• Julian Cheal at UKOLN will then work on a package to enhance, using scripts to improve the data, to help ensure it integrates in to the Linked Data eco-system;
• The data will be made available using an open licence as an XML file. It is planned that we will then upload the data in to a Talis Platform Store;
