These projects are enabling researchers to take advantage of new developments in infrastructure.

These projects are using new developments in software and services to build infrastructure components to allow them to manage information from its creation to its long term preservation and curation.

Project Institution Description
National e-infrastucture for social simulations Leeds University Looking at user requirements for social scientists to more effectively use simulations based on social science data.
Neurohub: the information environment for Neuroscientists University of Oxford Working with expert research groups in the field of neuroimaging to ensure that the diverse equipment and environments have some level of interoperability.

What is being produced?

The projects will focus on user requirements in the first instance and after that will produce software and services to enable interoperability and satisfy the user requirements.

Both projects will have a strong focus on using or developing appropriate standards and metadata models.

These projects have been designed to get people across the institution working together so there are a wide range of people involved, including: researchers, librarians, IT specialists and information specialists.
