The Preservation Exemplar at King's (PEKIN) project will investigate, scope and implement a solution for the management of electronic business records and research materials in an HE institution. It demonstrate the added value of bringing together the archival and data curation approaches to implement a coordinated and strategic solution to manage digital assets. It will seek to embed preservation practices within the institution through a multi-layered strategy: working with central services to ensure the college operates a consistent preservation strategy and service; and working with academic units and professional services to ensure local data producers and systems managers are provided with targeted advice, guidance and tools to support decision-making.
