UCIAD will investigate the use of semantic technologies, especially ontological models, for the purpose of integrating traces of user activity from different systems within a given organization. The objective is to scope and prototype an open, pluggable software framework based on such semantic models, aggregating logs and other traces from different systems as a way to produce a comprehensive and meaningful overview of the interactions between individual users and an organization. Based on a case study at The Open University, we will show how both the users and the organization can benefit from such a semantic integration of activity data, and how the UCIAD framework can be deployed into other organizations.
