Aims - Film & Sound Think Tank
Gathering a group of experts and practitioners to work in partnership with JISC helping to explore the challenges of Film and Sound in education
In the past 10 years JISC has invested in a number of activities in the film and sound area:
- Licensing of content and rights clearance
- Provision of content (digitisation, for example)
- Advice
- Embedding content in teaching, learning and research
- Resource discovery
- JISC services involved in this area (JISC Collections, for example)
The Think Tank would like to take stock of these activities and look at our approaches moving forward
The Think Tank would like to understand these approaches in the context of broader developments (in technology) in policy and in the media industry.
Where does JISC's work fit and how can we work in partnership with a range of organisations and individuals who also share our goal of ensuring that learners and researchers are able to get the best out of film and sound content?
This is an opportunity to think innovatively about the area and involve creative thinkers in exploring new approaches.
The work of the Think Tank may lead to JISC funded activities, recommendations about how this could be shaped, or work that others might do.
