Open architectures - Solving more interesting problems.
19 November 2012 – 12.00 – 13.00 GMT
In this session Mark Johnson and Martin Hamilton will look at some of the popular technologies that underpin teaching technology, and how these solutions prescribe to some extent the learning journey. Whilst we often say pedagogy leads all our decisions, the decisions we make about our infrastructure often determine what is possible.
Mark Johnson is development manager at OSSwatch, who provide unbiased advice and guidance on the use, development and licensing of free and open source software to colleges and universities.
Martin is head of internet services at Loughborough University. His section of IT services includes e-learning systems, research computing, web systems and corporate database development.
