Theme 1: learning landscapes
Advances in digital technology are making possible cross- and inter-institutional initiatives that were previously beyond reach. Theme 1 selects for closer analysis some innovative approaches to assessment and lifelong learning, plus institutional practice that extends our understanding of the potential role of students in curriculum design and delivery. These sessions illustrate the depth of response from UK further and higher education to the continuing need for flexible, efficient and forward-looking learning experiences, aided and enhanced by technology. (This theme runs for 48 hours from 8.30am on Tuesday 22nd November)
Theme 2: navigating pathways
New developments also bring new challenges. Theme 2 explores some of the potential benefits and issues associated with technology-enhanced learning and teaching, including the need for to support the development of sharable resources and high-quality digital literacy skills among staff and students, plus ways of ensuring flexibility and relevance in curriculum design. The Theme 2 keynote challenges us to rethink where, as well as how, learning takes place. (This theme runs for 48 hours from 8.30am on Thursday 24th November)
